The LaSalle Brittany Club successfully hosted its 29th Annual Specialty
Show and 15th Licensed Obedience Trial. June 14, 2003 was a beautiful
sunny day with high's in the mid 70's. New and old friends came together
for the events of the day.
The morning began with the Obedience Trial at 9:00am with Judge Ed Haas.
Ed was presented with brittanys in all classes from Utility to Novice
with our High in Trial coming from Novice B with a score of 193 and a
1st Place Potlicker's Amazin' Grace
Next our Sweepstakes Judge Gwen Tomlinson carefully evaluated the crop
of up and comers and those special veterans who love to show their stuff.
Best in Puppy Sweepstakes went to Requet's Expedition o Diane Requet with
Best of Opposite in Puppy Sweepstakes going to Timber Crest's Jesse Page
o Tracy Rogers. Nine veterans presented themselves for judging with Best
in Veteran Sweepstakes going to NFC/DC/AFC Gambler's Ace in the Hole and
Best of Opposite in Veteran Sweepstakes presented to CH Wincrest Millette
Melody JH o Barbara Scott.
Junior Showmanship was judged by Robert L. Boothe with Alexandra Findlay
taking home the Best Junior honors. After Junior Showmanship we had our
3rd Annual Special Attraction for American Brittany Rescue. Many adopted
and fosters dogs were paraded around the ring, as each of their stories
were read aloud. Also from 10:00am to 2:00pm Aimee Schilling administered
7 Canine Good Citizen Test to brittanys with 7 qualifying for the certificate.
Finally our afternoon main event was judged by Robert L. Boothe. Mr. Boothe
was both courteous and thorough giving each dog the opportunity to showcase
their best points. Winners Dog came from the American Bred Class / Sweetwater
Billy Tucker and Winners Bitch coming from the Open Bitch Class / Clyde's
Machinegunnin'Bonnie. Best of Breed went to CH Jordean A Night To Remember,
Best of Winners to Sweetwater Billy Tucker and Best of Opposite Sex to
CH Marsport Rabbit Ridge. Our Judge bestowed to Awards of Merit to NFC/DC/AFC
Gambler's Ace in the Hole and CH Classic's Can Do King Lou.
We would like to thank all Judges, Participants, and the Show Committee
Members for making this a wonderful event. Congratulations to all the
winners and we look forward to seeing you in 2004.
