SUMMER
2005 SPECIALTY SHOW RESULTS

The LaSalle Brittany Club hosted its 31st Annual Specialty
Show and 17th Licensed Obedience Trial on Saturday June 18th 2005. It
was a beautiful day, sunny and in the 70's. We were privileged to have
65 entries showcased in a combination of sweepstakes, breed, obedience
and junior showmanship. We had two lovely performances in obedience which
unfortunately each had a disqualifying faults.
Our sweepstakes was opened with a duet by Alexandra Findlay
and Heather Kuipers of our National Anthem, they did a lovely job and
we hope they will open our event for years to come. Jan Zeich evaluated
17 puppies and junior dogs/bitches and 4 veterans. She selected Rao's
Tailor Made for our Best Puppy and Best of Opposite in Puppy Sweepstakes
went to Copley Wincrest Can't Hurry Love. Her Best in Veteran Sweepstakes
was Ch Chilcote's Hope Au Gingembre.
We then had our American Brittany Rescue Parade, which is
always a tear jerker, with stories of dogs who have found forever homes
and dogs still needing help along the way. Andy a 6 month old foster,
who was exhibiting signs of ingestion of D-con and had to be kept at the
vets until a suitable foster home went home a winner with Chris and Ken
Peary, thanks LaSalle for all of your help with rescue.
Best Junior Handler went to Heather Kuipers, who shows
all the promise of being a natural. Dr. Wanda Spediacci did a wonderful
job of judging what the Brittany world brought to showcase. She was pleasant,
humurous, and precise. She moved dogs, carefully examined them and made
decisions. She selected Ch Rao's At Liberty for her Best of Breed, Best
of Winners went to Dogwood Hollow Tap Dancer and Best of Opposite Sex
was Ch Jordean Believe It or Not.
